scientists develop new treatments and cures for this dreaded disease. ·
Delight in the creative patriotism expressed by students in
grades 9-12. The Young American
Creative Patriotic Art Contest offers opportunities to more than 5,000 students
each year. ·
Encourage students aged 12-15 to enter the Outstanding Young
Volunteer of the Year Award contest and gain new insight into their energy and
compassion. Previous National
winners have been honored for speaking out about domestic violence by sharing a
personal experience, raising a puppy to become a guide dog for a blind person,
helping runaway teen, or serving on a city AIDS task force. You
can help with any of these programs by becoming a member of the Ladies Auxiliary
to the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States!

a Volunteer. Learn to become a leader, and….best of all-MAKE NEW
FRIENDS! Wives, widows, mothers, foster and stepmothers (who have performed the
duties of parent), grandmothers, daughters, granddaughters, foster and
stepdaughters (who attained that status prior to the age of sixteen and for whom
the duties of parent were performed), sisters, half sisters, foster and
stepsisters (who attained that status prior to age sixteen) of persons who were
or are eligible for membership in the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United
States. Members must be citizens of the United States and not less than sixteen
years old. Members
must be citizens of the United States and at least 16 years of age.
