VFW Family Assistance Centers expand the network of support services and emergency aid for family members of deployed service personnel by working in concert with local military Family Service Centers (FSC). "The war and the extensive deployment of our troops has created a greater need for services to those left behind when a family member deploys," said Bud Haney, MAP director. "Sometimes the need is as simple as listening, while sometimes the need is financial. We want family members, as well as their deployed spouse, to know that the VFW is there to help." All Posts and Auxiliaries in Nevada have been requested to provide a Point of Contact for Family Assistance to support deployed military members’ families from the community where the Post or Auxiliary is located. . To date, the following VFW Posts/Auxiliary Points of Contact are established: |
