Aid to Others

"Aid to Others" is VFW volunteers visiting hospitals and nursing homes, with emphasis on visiting veterans and active duty military personnel in residence, providing special needs, tragedy relief, and helping with illness in the communities of our Posts and Auxiliaries, providing care and companionship for senior citizens, and assisting with rehabilitation from illness or injury.

Department of Nevada volunteers support the Veterans Administration through Veterans Service (VAVS) in the Reno and Las Vegas areas, providing company, comfort, and necessities to veterans in VA facilities.

Department of Nevada partners with other veteran and relief organizations for a "Homeless Veterans Stand Down", a three day event to assist our homeless veterans with medical attention, clothing, and other necessities.

Department of Nevada members volunteer their time to work with senior citizens and in Senior Centers throughout the state, helping them with a wide variety of services, from in-home meal delivery to craft instruction to home repair.

Department of Nevada members volunteer their time through Post activities and on an individual basis to make our communities a better place to live.

Aid to others also means VFW and Department of Nevada dedicated service officers, as trained volunteers and professionals, assisting veterans with applications, claims, and issues with the Veterans Administration.
