Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States

Department of Nevada

The Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States has been a voice for our nation's veterans for more than a century.  To America and the world, the letters "VFW" symbolize voluntarism, community service, and active concern for our nation's veterans & military service members.

Learn more about the VFW by clicking on the "About the VFW" menu button or by clicking the

"National Web Site" menu button to explore the VFW national web site.

"VFW in Nevada" means forty Posts located throughout the state. No matter where you live in Nevada, there is a

VFW Post near you. A list of Nevada Posts and locations are available at the "Nevada Posts" menu button.

If you are an eligible combat veteran, join the VFW and your fellow combat veterans. Besides the many personal benefits for you, you help the VFW "honor the dead by helping the living". To see if you are eligible and to check out the many personal benefits of joining, click on the "Join the VFW" menu button.

Your participation in the VFW strengthens our mission to fight for veterans' rights, help veterans in need, support the communities in which we live, and assist members of the military and their families.

Department of Nevada has an education partnership with Excelsior College, a recognized and highly respected distance learning institution of advanced education, to provide veteran partner pricing to VFW/Ladies Auxiliary members and employees, their spouses or domestic partners.

At Excelsior College, you can rely on maximum transfer of prior college credits and credits for approved military and corporate training.
