We are the Veterans of Foreign Wars—or VFW for short. Originally founded in 1899 as the American Veterans of Foreign Service, the VFW continues to be a voice for returning and currently deployed service members and their families. The 2.4 million members of the VFW and its Auxiliaries are located in 8,500 VFW posts around the world. We welcome everyone who meets VFW eligibility requirements, regardless of age, race, religion, or gender.

Our Mission: The VFW is dedicated to supporting those who sacrifice so much for this country—veterans, service members in the US Armed Forces, and their families.

Online Resources For Current Members
Your membership goes where you go. If you are a current member or a post quartermaster, go to VFW eMembership You can manage your membership online and even find a post near you. Post quartermasters can access Quartermaster Tools once they log on.

We are a veterans’ service organization dedicated to supporting veterans and deployed service members, as well as their families. All of our 1.7 million members are U. S. citizens, have served honorably in the U. S. military and have been deployed (or are currently deployed) to an area of conflict.
